Style
Veuve Cheurlin works with the chalky, marl-rich soils of the Côte des Bar in southern Champagne. The cuvées lean on Pinot Noir, which thrives in this part of the Aube, producing wines with body, ripe fruit and a structured backbone. The range covers brut non-vintage assemblages, blanc de noirs and rosé, with extended lees ageing across the line.
History
Veuve Cheurlin has operated for several generations as a family grower-producer in Celles-sur-Ource. The house has remained independent and small in scale, focused on estate fruit from holdings around the village rather than wide négoce sourcing. Like most of the Aube, its vineyards sit on Kimmeridgian limestone — geologically closer to neighbouring Chablis than to the chalk of Reims and Épernay.
