Style

Charles Heidsieck is built around depth and maturity rather than youthful fruit. The house's Brut Réserve uses a substantial share of reserve wines, giving the non-vintage blend a broad, toasty and creamy profile. Long cellar ageing in Reims crayères reinforces the house's rounded texture.

History

The house was founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, who became famous in the United States as "Champagne Charlie". In 1867, the house acquired deep chalk cellars in Reims; those crayères now form a central part of its identity and of the city's Champagne heritage.

Positioning

Charles Heidsieck sits in the premium and prestige tier, with a relatively small profile among the Grandes Marques and a reputation for cellar-aged, gastronomic champagnes.
